This is a spectacular place. A hotel in a medieval tower with large comfortable rooms which are are pristine, elegant and absolutely gorgeous with beautiful wall finishes and exquisite lamps. There are exposed original beams in the ceiling and beautifully polished wood floors. The bathroom is gorgeous and very spacious, with lovely wallpaper and products and a wonderful shower. The view out the casement window overlooks the Arno -across the river is a lovely vista of rooftops and the dome of a Basilica. This is a place steeped in history, (the family is linked to the building for centuries and the story is beautifully told in the welcome packet). The building is discreetly tucked away from the main thoroughfare, just off the Ponte Santa Trinita. It’s a lovely quick walk to the square in front of the Duomo, and the Uffizzi and Accademia are minutes away from the Duomo. Doing that early morning walk after a 7 am macchiato and pastry at the Caffe Scudieri was a very special experience as the city woke up. Breakfast at the hotel- also wonderful-is on the 7th floor in a beautiful open plan room with panoramic views of Florence. There is also a bar on the rooftop. (After a distressing mishap with another booking, this unexpected booking was a gift in a myriad of ways- and also was the room which comes with an adjacent room housing a mini spa with private hamman and jacuzzi which was delightful after a day of multiple travel obstacles.) The two ladies at the front desk are lovely, and truly kind and always responsive. As were are all the other hotel staff.

What can I say about this hotel? There are no real words to describe my experience here. The Antica Torre is perhaps one of the most charming buildings I have ever set foot in. We not only stayed at this hotel but we had our wedding on their rooftop terrace. Both the stay and the wedding far exceeded any expectations we had (and our expectations were high to begin with). The Antica is ideally located close to all of Florence’s major attractions, in an area where we always felt safe to be no matter the time of day. Their rooftop terraces have the most incredible views of both the city of Florence and the river/bridges (the most amazing place for a wedding). All the staff were incredible and all so friendly. The breakfast was impeccable, the perfect selection of different foods so everyone can find something to eat without feeling overwhelmed. I also love the postcards they make available to guests, I have a set framed on my walls to remember my time there. Myself and my husband look forward to many more visits to the Antica, it will always be a go to for us in Florence.

We had a room with a private terrace with sweeping views to the north and west. I can't recommend booking this room enough for a romantic getaway. The room was large and was lightly and pleasantly perfumed. Breakfast was the best we've had traveling in Italy (several locations). Desk was able to reserve an early morning taxi for us that arrived on time. The also have an extensive honesty bar with spectacular views. Clean, safe, and walkable to nearly everything in Florence. Hoping to stay here again.

It is a pearl ! I recommend this atypical hotel. It is very well located in an ancient tower fully refurbished with taste and comfort. It is full of charm. Splendid view. Of course there is nothing fancy but details are well thought. There is a PIANO in the living room and one can practice freely ! I should have brought with me my partition. Good service. Excellent breakfast. I stayed many places in Florence before - I must say this one suits me the best.

This is absolutely perfect location if you’re only in Florence for a few days and want to be walking distance to the most popular areas and museums. Our room was large and a great large bathroom. We loved the very traditional style of the room. There’s also a beautiful terrace at the top of the hotel thay gives you some of the best views of the city for free. There’s a bar as well that I’m sure was wonderful, although we didn’t get to try it.
